Slapdash Supercar - Max Siedentopf

Max Siedentopf – Slapdash Supercars

The photographer Max Siedentopf pimps mediocre cars.

The photographer Max Siedentopf has no pale glimmer to whom the cars belong in his pictures. But he knew very well, that when he saw them they could urgently need some upgrades. Slapdash means „hastily improvised“, and so he went about the same way when shooting these pictures.

With a lot of tape and cardboard he pulled through Amsterdam -West, looking for mediocre cars. To be caught by nobody, he glued the carton parts as fast as he could to the vehicles and then disappeared. The photos were made on different evenings, because it was difficult to drag around the whole car parts and get away quickly.

«Individuality, the expression of one’s own personality and status are more important than ever in our time. Nevertheless, the personalization of everyday things like cars has drastically decreased, while I see in it a crazy, but also cool way to express themselves. I thought I’d do the people a favor and build their own super-car.» says Max.
